Maintenance

wrench-icon.pngDuring the hours of Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm and Saturday 9am - 4pm, please contact our Lettings Department on 0191 3839994, there will be a member of the team more than happy to help you.

emergency.pngEmergency - Any gas leaks, any serious electrical or structural faults that pose a serious risk to the Tenant or the Property.

Other types of necessary repair could be:

Priority - Any breakdown resulting in no heating or hot water

Urgent - Manageable plumbing leaks, electrical faults, broken windows etc

Routine - Small, non-urgent jobs such as gutter leaks

pipe.pngThere may be instances where the property appears to have a blocked drain, or show signs that there could be a blockage in the system. Please be aware that if the problem persists and a drainage specialist deems it to have been caused by a foreign object, such as a 'baby wipe', then you could be held responsible and expected to cover any charges.

drop-icon.pngThese problems are normally caused by tenant occupation and not structural problems.  In a student household there are more meals prepared, clothes dried, baths / showers taken than a normal household.  Proper ventilation is the answer to these problems, leaving the windows open or doors ajar when preparing meals and after showering etc goes along way to preventing these problems.

handshake.pngPlease remain considerate to your neighbours. With regard to parking, noise levels visitors etc.  It can be quite unsettling having transient neighbours move in if you are a non student household and it may be an idea to politely introduce yourselves.

Make sure that your rubbish is collected on a regular basis. You can find out the collection day of your rubbish by contacting waste disposal at Durham City Council.
