Fine & Country - Durham

The River Wear runs through Durham and flows north to make a peninsula, which is home to an active market place. This is one of the main shopping areas of the city.

The entire centre of Durham has been designated a conservation area. This includes the famous Cathedral, founded in 1093, and still is a centre of Christian worship today.

With Durham University being one of the first universities opened in England, the city has a very active student life. The railway station is a principal stop for the East Coast Main Line and was refurbished between 2006 and 2008.
